Arthur Alexander: Anna
[purchase]
Arthur Alexander was a big influence on the Rolling Stones and The Beatles—especially John Lennon. AMG calls his body of work “the stuff of genius.” Despite his talent and influence, Alexander is not well known. This particular song was covered by the Beatles, but I favor the original.

Thanks Six!
I'm a big Beatles fan (I know, 'who isn't?'), but I'd never heard this. This Machine is turning into my favorite spot to stop!
I'm glad you posted this, I don't want to hog it all - good one!
Kudos to you! This is one of the best soul songs ever.
I'm listening to this now. What a great song! So 'torn' in that 60's way. You hurt me so bad, please come back. The Supremes built a career on it.
PS: you have the best dirty username ever.
