Lucinda Williams has one album that I really love, her self-titled album from 1988. The songwriting is sharp and the delivery is heartfelt without going over the top. The only "problem" is the 1980's-style production in spots, but it's definitely worth tracking down.
This town has said what it has to say. Now I'm after that back highway, and the longest bridge I've ever crossed, over Ponchartrain...

I remember listening to this in a record store. I remember a girl named Vickie. I remember Lienenkugels and sausage from Kramarczuks. I remember cool summer nights free and easy.
