The Beatles: Lies
[currently unavailable]
Such were their abilities at the height of their powers that even the Beatles' b-sides were pop gems. "I Saw Her Standing There"? B-side. "I Should Have Known Better"? B-side. "Rain"? B-side.
While "Lies" is not as well know as those (it was only released as the flip side of "You're Gonna Lose That Girl" in the Benelux countries), it is just as good as any of them and deserves a more prominent spot in the Beatles cannon.

Doesn't get much better than this, lie-wise.
I only vaguely remembered the restofthestory of Lies.
(Knickerbockers)
Touche, you got me on that one...lol!
This is not the Beatles; it is an American group called the Knickerbockers. If anything, "Lies" is credited with being a song closest to the "Beatles sound" of the day.
"You're Gonna Lose That Girl" was never released as a single (at least not in the US or Europe), although it was considered. The B-side would probably have been "Girl." I don't know where this 45 sleeve came from but it is a good-looking fraud.
You could have waited till Aprl 1st...
To those who missed it, this was part of our week-long celebration of April Fool's Day. Yes, this track is actually the Knickerbockers, and it's one of the best Beatles , umm, "homages", ever, and a rippin' good track to boot. Photoshopped picture sleeve courtesy of your's truly. All in good fun, my dear readers.
P.S. Apologies for these comments not showing up in their regular spot in the right-hand column of the website. I screwed up something when posting, and there doesn't seem to be a way to change it, so all these comments are unfortunately flying a little under the radar.
